Bio:

PALE PENGUIN’s one of the key figures in Greek electronic scene. Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, he’s been djing for almost 20 years being one of the best Greek Breaks/Techno/Tech-House djs. In his portfolio there are appearances in big festivals (Sola Luna, Balkan Voices, Urban Rhythm, Reworks, Butterfly, Spring Festen) alongside Slam, Felix Da Housecat, Dave Angel, Luke Slater, Dominic Eulberg, Modeselektor, Rob Luis (Tru Thoughts), Coldcut, Octave One, Eddie Piller etc, and many venues throughout Greece and Europe. He has done warm-ups to artists likes Rjd2, Thievery Corporation, Richard Dorfmeister, Nightmares On Wax, Kid Loco, Mushroom (Massive Attack), Frank Popp, Bjorn Torske, Bentley’s Rhythm Ace, Snowboy, Hooverphonic etc. He was one of the first radio producers playing Breaks/Drum n’Bass and Electronica in his legendary “Tricknology”, “Brainwash” and “Cinematica Paradiso” radio shows. Since 2003 he’s resident dj in Bar/Club Elvis, Thessaloniki, Greece presenting Friday “BreakTech” nights in which he has hosted Meat Katie, Lee Coombs, Tom Real, Malente, Andy Smith, Ursula 1000, Smacs & Crazy Sonic, Lee Bass and Aidan Lavelle. He was also resident dj to legendary club Liebe, Thessaloniki, Greece in which he has done warm-up sets for Meat Katie, Kevin Saunderson, AtJazz, Break The Box etc. He has done exclusive mix sets for many net radios (Ibreaks Radio, NSB Radio, Breakbeat.Ca site, NuBreaks Radio), exclusive mix CD’s (“Battle Of The Breaks” series) for Freeze magazine, he has performed dj sets in Thessaloniki’s International Fair, Thessaloniki’s International Film Festival, has took part many times (as member of the djs team) in the biggest Balkans Hip-Hop/Breakdance/Funky Breaks event “Battle Of The Year/Balkans”, and in many clubs throughout Europe (Flex Club/Vienna, Arttheater Club/Cologne, Art & Dance/Cologne, Rivolli/London, Club Montepulciano/London, South London Pacific/London). Additionally he’s main music contributor to Greek music and urban culture magazines Freeze, Soundmaker and Crawford Magazine.
He’s production activities begun with SCOPITONE CONSPIRACY and POZITRONIC RAY and since 2006 he’s member of The Scientifics-a Breaks/Tech project which have released singles and remixes for labels like V.I.M.Breaks, Erase, Basstard, Yellow Finger Communications, Warriorz Music, Relax and Groovebox, performed live throughout Greece, Italy and Germany, and being presented in many sites, radios, forums (BreakinAsia, Breakbeat Canada, Annie Nightingale Radio 1 Show, Ibreaks Radio, NSB Radio, Nu Breaks Radio etc). Since early 2007, together with Echonomist and Mr.Lookman, launched and manages V.I.M. (Very Important Music) Records, releasing quality Breaks, Tech-House, Electronica singles and albums by many International and Greek artists. From the beginning of 2009 he has formed with KID STRETCH the Funky/Disco-Breaks project PALE THE KID. Through this year they’re going to release singles and remixes for Breakbeat Paradise, V.I.M.Breaks, Warriorz Music and Timewarp Music.
