The Toast & Jam Remixed series brings 2021 to a close for us with Jackal and Hyde’s Shatter Remixed and a pair of properly massive tunes from the likes of Rennie Pilgrem and Propa Dropa. The Rennie Pilgrem remix takes Shatter in a tech-funk direction while incorporating the original vocoded Jackal and Hyde vocals with a rapid-fire sine wave bassline. Propa Dropa sets up the vibe with a chunky breakbeat drum kit and a low droning bassline, capped off with some arpeggiated synth work for a dark yet uplifting feel. We can’t think of a better combo to close out the year for Toast & Jam!
